LYDIA LEE CHONG

Lydia Lee Chong has over 20 years of collective experience in engineering, advanced process control, project management, process safety, and occupational safety. She holds the position of process manager, Phoenix Park Gas Processors Ltd (PPGPL) accountable for maximizing economic liquids extraction from the natural gas feed, plant on -stream time, product quality, availability, and delivery.

Ms. Lee Chong joined PPGPL as a senior process engineer in 2006 and was responsible for the development and execution of small and medium capital growth projects. From 2017 to 2021, she held the position of HSSE manager. In this role, she communicated and enforced the HSSE policies, procedure and practices that were critical to the success and sustainability of safe operations. Prior to PPGPL, she served as a senior process engineer, with responsibility for process optimization and advanced process control at the Petrotrin Refinery for a period of 7 years.

Lydia currently serves on the Safe to Work STOW implementation board of directors for the Contractors Management Safety Systems Certification Programme. She is a member of the HSSE subcommittee of the Point Lisas Energy Association (PLEA); a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad and Tobago (APETT), Board of Engineering of Trinidad and Tobago (BOETT) and Toastmasters Association. She is a certified process safety professional (CPSP), certified incident command system practitioner, certified emergency responder and certified NFPA 70E train the trainer.

Mrs. Lee Chong earned a BSc in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of the West Indies Trinidad, an MSc in Project and Programme Management from the University of the West Indies Trinidad, an MBA in Sustainable Energy Management at the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business and a Certified Energy Manager qualification from Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business.
